Split-Pea Soup

This is one of the hardest things to get kids to try for the first time, and I never expect to be highly favored, but a few of the kids eat it up. It’s a good idea to provide alternatives with a meal like this. It’s just split peas, carrots, celery, a little onion and garlic. Slow cooked for a few hours and then blended into a smooth soup and seasoned to taste. A little effort in presentation also helps kids to try something different like this.
